Our Story
Where Irish Craft Meets Opportunity
Goats Path Woollen Mills began with a simple belief: the finest Irish wools should be accessible to the craftspeople who will appreciate them most. Ireland has a centuries-old tradition of exceptional wool production — from the rugged Donegal Tweeds woven in the north-west to the luxurious blanket wools of mills like John Hanly & Co. in County Tipperary. Yet much of this heritage material goes unnoticed, locked away in mill surplus, discontinued colourways, and job lots.
We source directly from Irish mills and trusted suppliers to bring these exceptional yarns to knitters, weavers, loom artists, and hobbyists. Our stock changes regularly as we find new lots — from classic KNOLL brand knitting-machine wool in soft, practical shades, to hard-to-find Dyneema Merino blends used in military base-layer garments, to rare and discontinued colourways from the looms of John Hanly & Co.
We believe that wool is not just a craft material — it is an investment. A cone of pure Irish wool can become a cherished blanket, a market-stall income stream, or the starting point for an entirely new creative endeavour. We are happy to discuss the possibilities with any buyer, whether you're purchasing a single cone or an entire job lot.
